FAQ

Can you tell me about delivery, unloading, siting, loading and collection?

While we will deliver on the day requested we are unable to specify precise times. We can instruct the driver to call you, for example, 1 hour before he arrives at your site. We will deliver your toilets on a flat bed truck with a tail lift, slightly smaller than a refuse lorry, so we wont be able to pull through a set of typical driveway gates. We need to get within a few yards of the required location. We can't go up steps, over fences and hedges or through doorways. The ground has to be reasonably level. If in doubt please call us 0845 521 7283.

Will you clean them once they are on site?

Your toilets will be delivered in a perfectly clean condition. If you are hiring them for less than a week we won't automatically visit in order to clean them. However if you think they will need cleaning this can be ordered in advance for an additional charge; please call 0845 521 7283.

If you are hiring them for more than a week we will visit once per week to empty, clean and restock with consumables; this is included in your charge.

How many toilets will I need?

If you are hiring for more than a week, e.g. for a building site, you will need 1 toilet for every 7 people working a 40 hour week (from BS6465).

If you are hiring for a special event, the rough rule of thumb is: 1 toilet for every 80 people, however, this can vary depending on the type of event. For example, the greater proportion of women, the more toilets you will need. If alcohol is consumed, you will need more toilets. If your event has an interval, you will need more toilets. A typical example is a marquee wedding; they usually have 150 guests and 2 or 3 portable toilets work well. If you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you.

Do they have lights?

No. The toilets have translucent roofs so if you position them under a light source (halogen security lights are ideal) you will have no problems. Alternatively we can supply a battery operated push button light for £3.50 + vat including batteries.

(The Luxury Trailer toilets DO have lights)

Do they smell?

The blue additive we use smells of wild berry, vanilla berry or orange. The only time a portable toilet will smell nasty is if it has been overused or not emptied once per week.

What happens to the waste we take away?

WE ONLY DISPOSE OF YOUR WASTE IN LINE WITH ENVIRONMENT AGENCY REGULATIONS. When you hire a toilet the waste disposal is YOUR responsibility. If your waste is tipped illegally YOU are responsible. Only use a company you can trust.
